Kinesiology is the science of muscle testing in relation to all the body functions. It was first developed from a system of structural muscle testing used for many years by orthodox medical practitioners. Non invasive testing of muscle responses is performed by the kinesiologist in order to obtain the body’s information – similar to accessing information from a computer’s memory banks. The Bowen Technique is a highly effective, non-invasive soft tissue therapy and one of the fastest growing complementary therapies in Europe. Bowen is a very subtle and gentle treatment, using just fingers and thumbs. The moves are focused on crucial junctions of muscle, bone and nerve pathways. Sets of these moves are then alternated and in between sets the client is left to rest for a few minutes. The pauses give time for the body to respond.

Shiatsu is a non-invasive, fully clothed treatment that is practiced on the floor with the aid of a comfortable mattress. It begins with a connection of/with? the Hara (abdominal diagnosis) and is administered by using the palms of the hands, thumbs, fingers, knees and elbows. The treatment also involves gentle stretches and joint rotation and the technique is understood to stimulate the natural healing powers of the body.
